This is two-player game in which your goal is to be first to move your disc past the final line. When you move your disc to a new tile (free or on top of other discs), old tile behind it is removed from game, so the board shrinks in almost every turn. “Passo” is new in our board game collection and with this mechanisms there is some similarity with “Onitama” (initial 5×5 grid), Tak – a beautiful game (stacking), Hey, that’s my fish & Zertz (shrinking game board).
But this one has a special twist: at the start of gameplay, each player may secretly chooses 3 out of 6 asymmetric abilities (you can use 1 of those 3 on a single turn) which bypass the general rules and which gives real flavor and uncertainty to a very simple board game. Great little abstract.
