Special: “Favorite tiles” part 2.

Hexagon is by itself one of the best shapes in board games with tile placement mechanism, so double hexagon (actually two hexagons sharing a side) is then double the choice and possible fun (“Ingenious”, 2004.),

Two-colored dominoes. In the race to place your last pagoda, create and conquer provinces, the one who knows how to deal with two-colored dominoes and use their maximum, by opening new fronts, closing growing opponents areas, will have a good chance to win. There can be only one. (“Qin”, 2012. – my favorite board game, ever),

Villages. Playing this board game is in two phases, so placing villages on the right parts of different islands, with the necessary and smart sacrifices, will give you the right positions and advantage for the second phase, when the whole board, except for the villages, is reset. Always an uncertain playthrough until the very end (“Blue Lagoon”, 2018.),

Where there are villages, there are farmers. Unlike fancy nobles, you can play 5 or even 7 farmers on the board in just one turn (depending on the hand limit). This means that if you’re patient enough, along with some other finesse in gameplay, you can bypass all opponents (except Tigris and Euphrates) in just one explosive action and create the basis for the best “Chaining” I have seen in our hobby. Of course, Knizia wouldn’t be the best game designer if he didn’t bait farmers to deviate from the most efficient path and occupy some farms and score some really nice points…But, that’s trap, of course. (“Babylonia”, 2019.) and

no, they’re not castles and neither rabbits 😉 It’s Sky tower – a boomerang shape with a yellow bunny next to it, which is in a slight lead and a serious candidate for the winner. The functions of the cable cars do not need to explained separately (”Bunny kingdom”, 2017.).
